Muralling

Hello. I haven't posted for ages, as a) I've been having a massive existential crisis regarding the act of doing art, but, to a larger extent, because I have been doing this:

Christmas (baby please buy cards)

Christmas cards are done! A little later than last year but still in good time, and, crucially, just as twee. These are two of five, and you, you lucky devil, can buy all five (or the original artwork, as, goddamn my house is getting a little cramped) from
my folksy. Hurrah.

Riding

Here is a terrifying tryptich. Hurrah.

Onward!

I made some collage posters based around existing Job centre literature and soviet posters. These have been collected into a full colour zine, '56 Miles of Hard Road', which you can aquire by paypalling 50 english pence to everyonestoostupid@hotmail.com
Here's a taster anyway.

Big draw!

I did an event for the Big Draw. (www.campaignfordrawing.org.uk) Here's some photos of the drawing games and junk robot we made - both in progress, being worn by one of the lovely kids, and the finished full suit, being worn by my partner, Matt.

Done!

The Magnificent Circus of Moderate Wonder is now available! (Featuring the sneaky peek posters previously posted here, plus lots more) You can get it from my Folksy shop, from the link below, or, as soon as I get to shipping them, from Good Grief in Manchester or OK Comics in Leeds. Or drop me an email and I'll sort you out personally.

Muralling

I have done a mural in the toilets at Crewe Alexandra football ground. Mutant animals abound!

Done!

Well, that's the last of the circus posters done for my next comic, Magnificent Circus of Moderate Wonder. Now to get printing them up and sending them out to comic shops. Meanwhile, the next issue is underway but still in the early/confused stages.

newest

I've been doing drawings for other people all week. It feels pretty good, if I'd done the skeleton for me, I'd have put all kind of crap around it. And the cake would have turned out way less girly. So, I'm glad I managed to hold myself back.

Things to come

I'm working on a new comic-thingy. This one concerns vintage circus posters and a celebration of mediocrity. Here are probably the only images I'm going to upload as you'll just have to buy a copy when it's done.

Now my designs could be yours!

(They always could be yours. But now! In jewellery form!)

Go to Catastrofeef and check out the goods. high quality polymer clay jewellery, and the jilted women are available there too. Enjoy! By which I mean: buy stuff!

Monday 9 August 2010

I am exhibiting in Crewe throughout August. I have almost certainly mentioned this. So far, it's going good. Here's some sneak previews from when I was putting it up.

Stuff!

"Motivational Posters For The Terminally Pessimistic", an exhibition of my drawings and stuff* - some of which hasn't been on here! Loads of it actually because of that time where I got really lazy with blogging but was still drawing! - at the Cubbyhole, Crewe, throughout August. Get in touch for more details of its' whereabouts and stuff, as I maybe went a little overboard with the fonts on the poster. Hurrah!

*I'm not sure either - a couple of paintings maybe?

I've also got some new owls, as previewed here. I'm making them into cards. Shameless promotion of which to follow. Hurrah!

Lost... and found

Paint on board. Painting again? Must be unemployed.

I was not always lost. I was briefly found.

Monday 7 June 2010

then things got a bit pessimistic

So, seemingly I'm expected to turn twenty five soon or something. I'm not sure how this has happened, but I don't approve. Still, if nothing else, I can document this horrific event through those drawing things:

Unrelated Nina Simone lyric:

back back back back back!

Having finally settled in a house with suitable equipment to scan pictures in, in theory I should update more. Should.
Some things I have been up to recently:
